Hives are also called as urticaria which will cause an itchy red welts in the body. They are not due to allergy and most of the time the cause for its appearance and its disappearance is found to be a great mystery. The pale colored elevated wheals are provided with a clear boundary mark around it. Hives may occur due to the insect’s bites or due to the intake of certain food items like nuts, shellfish or even sometimes eggs. Generally antihistamines are prescribed to the patient in the initial stages if the itching is found to be greater for relief they are prescribed. Sometimes the combination of hives and angioedema will occur which will be very severe and the main cause is due to allergy injection given to the person.

Hives onset is very usual after a viral infection so proper care must be taken in order to escape from this attack. It is very common in adults and even if treatment is not taken they will disappear on their own after a time period of two years. These are chronic and recurring is found for months. For relief doxepin are given but many prefer the solid intake of corticosteroids tablets for specified time period. One need to have this in mind that intake of this tablet after specified time will lead to adverse effects. Autoimmune thyroids disorders and sometimes tablets like aspirin and anti inflammatory drugs can sensitize the action of this disease to greater extent.
