The rashes will not develop immediately after intake sometime the time period may extent up to two weeks for the rashes to appear. Even though may blame some specified soaps, foods, detergent for the cause of allergies they are not the main culprit for these allergic drug rashes. The allergy is developed only when the person get exposed to sunlight for a long period the main reason behind this is the drugs are sensitized by the sunlight. They are photosensitive. Sala antibiotics, antipsychotics, chlorothiazide, tetra acycline and the artificial sweeteners are some of the drugs which are found to be photosensitive.
The allergic drug rashes will be initially mild red but when they are disturbed due to itching then they will turn grayish blue. Symptoms included rashes with tiny bumps and wheezing, runny nose, watery eyes, sometimes they will also lead to adverse part of low blood pressure. The main problem is diagnose is very difficult only prediction will give idea about it. The only choice to prevent these types of rashes is to stop intake of such photosensitive drugs unless that are life sustaining drug. Constant intake will lead to the same problem again and again if it is essential then the patient can approach the doctor to prescribe similar medicine with some other combination. Skin test does not support much for prediction only if the allergy is due to penicillin they will report it.
